Aya really didn’t know why he had said yes to Yohji’s offer. Now he was truly regretting it. Here he was stuck out in the middle of nowhere with absolutely no way of getting back to the Koneko. He should have never said yes.

" You should come with me Aya, take your mind off of work and things!"

" No. What is the point?"

" To relax, get a change in scenery. Come on, it’s just a drive out to the country."

Aya wasn’t normally spontaneous. Normally he would think things out, calculate and weigh the pros and cons. None the less here he was. Leaning against the passenger door of the now broken down Seven. Legs crossed at the ankle, arms crossed at his chest. Yohji had asked him to hold his sunglasses while he looked under the hood. Aya was now wearing them looking up at the clouds that were a shade of dull green through the lens. Wearing his glasses. He wasn’t normally this spontaneous.

" Okay, it’s dead," Yohji was mumbling to himself, face tucked under the upturned hood. He looked up at Aya to get his opinion, but it was soon clear that Aya had detached himself from the situation. Yohji sighed. Then standing walked over to stand in front of Aya.

Aya didn’t bother to look at Yohji, instead he raised his eyes higher toward the heavens. Yohji studied Aya, cocking his head to the side, then reaching forward, slid his index finger along Aya’s nose until he had hooked his glasses. He pulled them off slowly watching as Aya’s amethyst eyes finally lowered to look at him.

" We should stay a while," the words had tumbled from Aya’s lips before he could stop them. Spontaneous. It had claimed him again.

Yohji put on the sunglasses and sighed, " Sure, we can call Ken and Omi later. Tell them where we are at."

Aya didn’t answer, he just slid down the length of Seven until he was seated in the cool grass, legs stretched out in front of him. Yohji followed, crossing his legs and sitting very close to him.

" Aya?"

" Hm?"

" Why did you come?"

Aya looked over lazily, staring at Yohji as if he was just seeing him for the first time. Then it all clicked, " Because you asked me to."

Yohji nodded like he understood, but he didn’t. He asked another question, " So...you and I are friends?"

" I would like to think so."

" I mean I know we are together twenty four seven," Yohji rubbed the back of his neck, " I just...well, you are so quiet. So solitary."

Aya grunted, " The fact remains I like you the most," Damn. It happened again. Suddenly Aya understood why he worked so hard at keeping his emotions private. Apparently, once spontaneity has been released it isn’t corralled so easily.

Yohji froze at the words, then regaining his composure spoke, " Well, I like you too."

" How much?"

" Um..." Yohji bit his bottom lip.

Aya groaned. What the hell, this side of himself wasn’t all that bad. He decided he would do as his body wanted. He would embrace this newfound spontaneity. He placed his head on Yohji’s shoulder and sighed, " How much?"

Yohji took a deep breath. Did Aya always smell this pleasant? He lowered his head and rested it atop Aya’s, " A lot."

" Good."

" What about you?" Yohji whispered, anticipating and fearing the answer, " How much do you like me?"

Aya thought about it, the time seeming to stretch on and on and Yohji thought he wouldn’t answer him. Then, " More than I should."

Yohji smiled, " Good. Now I don’t feel quite as awkward."

Aya frowned, " Awkward?" then slowly the realization dawned on him, " Oh, I see..." his voice was a whisper.

" Yep."

" So... would you be upset if I said I didn’t feel the same way?"

Yohji closed his eyes, " Heartbroken."

" Hmm," Aya smiled slightly and only because he knew Yohji couldn’t see it, " then I guess I shouldn’t say that then."

" Don’t tease me Aya."

" I don’t," he sat up turning so he was looking into his companion’s eyes, " This is teasing..." his lips touched Yohji’s softly. It was quick, only a brief touch of tongues, yet it was warm and oh...such a tease.

Yohji sighed then whispered against Aya’s lips, " That was low."

" I know. You’re right," Aya pulled away and lay back against the Seven, " None the less, it was good."

Yohji chuckled a bit, feeling his body tingle, " Very good indeed," he reached over and finding Aya’s hand entwined their fingers.

" We should stay until sundown."

" Whatever you want Aya. I will give you anything," Yohji closed his eyes, bathing in the warmth of the summer day. Suddenly he became acutely aware of his body. The feel of Aya’s palm against his own, the fingers connected, but relaxed. The smell of the plush grass and fresh sky intermingled with the distinct scent of Aya.

" Anything Yohji?"

" If I have it I will give it. If I don’t then I will find it."

Aya was trembling slightly, he didn’t know what he was really doing, but he knew if he stopped, changed his mind, then he would be left empty. So he accepted these feelings. He wouldn’t call them new, they were there all along. Buried deep within himself only creeping to the surface during his times of slumber. There his subconscious would show him all the wonderful things he could have, all the feelings his heart longed for.

" Yohji, give yourself to me."

" I’m yours."

Aya shook his head, " Not your body. Your soul. Everything you are. Promise me."

Yohji looked over, not once was he thinking of his body, " I promise. Make me a promise now."

" Hm?"

" Never be ashamed of me."

Aya blinked at that, what an odd request. Had Aya thought of it first that would have been the question he would have asked of Yohji.

" That is an inappropriate question."

Yohji frowned, " So you won’t promise me then."

" I will, if that is what you want," he laid his head back on the car, " Just know that the thought never crossed my mind," Aya now understood that he wasn’t being spontaneous he was letting go. Opening up, confessing all that was in his heart.

Aya liked this feeling and his next words to Yohji were clear and true,

" I adore you."
